We allow stores to customize their fraud sensitivity levels and automations.
Automations include emails to the customer & store, automated fraud order refunding, and more.
Sensitivity Levels
Nothing is ever certain with machine learning decisions. There will always be a small percentage of fraud that is a "toss up".
Instead of tossing the dice and accepting all of these, we allow stores to customize which "split decision" orders will be cancelled.
We recommend using the default sensitivity level unless you have a high (.75%+) dispute rate and want to catch the maximum amount of fraud, in which case you should choose "Low Tolerance".
There will not be a large difference in the amount of fraud order cancellations based on your sensitivity level, most of the time our AI is pretty certain ;)
Tolerance breakdowns:
High: 70+
Medium Risk Score: 40-70+
Low Risk: 7-40+
No Significant Risk Shown: < 7
Some particularly high risk countries have weighted scoring which can override the displayed risk score.
Fraud Analysis
We include additional data points next to the Shopify fraud analysis on the order page. This allows you to see additional risk factors that Shopify does not include.
Major risk indicators will be shown in your fraud analysis if they are detected in the transaction.
For most countries, the risk scoring is the following:
0-2: low risk
2-30: medium risk
30-100: high risk
Some particularly high risk countries have weighted scoring which can override the displayed risk score.
